Unlocking the Power of Stillness: How to Access Your Full Potential

We have access to so much power in the current moment. The hardest part though is clearing our racing minds to access that power. Our egos are what gets in the way. We get trapped in our incessant thoughts and believe what we think.
“In the unawakened state you don’t use thought, but thought uses you. You are, one could almost say, possessed by thought, which is the collective conditioning of the human mind that goes back many thousands of years.” – Eckhart Tolle
The ego falsely identifies yourself. Tingling behind the ego lives consciousness. That consciousness or feeling of aliveness is complete stillness. In this stillness nothing remains except the feeling of constant peace and accessibility to creativity. By staying current to this stillness and without creating any labels, you can experience the entirety of your surrounding environment’s pure nature. To do this focus on something in your surrounding environment with complete awareness. This could be a vibrant vase in a storefront window or even a willow tree in your back yard. By calling the vase a vase or a willow tree a tree, you are cutting off your circulation from that particular things complete essence. Without the label you are able to get a sample of the real depth of that vase or tree. Words fall short of the depth you can sense with our pure awareness.
A thought that may help you understand this zone of awareness might be the same feeling a baby experiences as the current of life reverberates beneath their skin. The only difference is you have more awareness and most likely an ego. That baby is just enjoying the feeling of life as they stretch around in the sheets of their crib. They haven’t titled a label for anything yet because they don’t have the vocabulary nor have they developed an ego. They are just enjoying their body that pulsates with life. They are enjoying the current moment.
You always have the choice between this peace or worry. Instead of worrying about the past or future, just align yourself with the current moment and do everything that is within your power to improve upon the situation. By aligning yourself with this stillness the appropriate answers will come to you and you will instinctively know how to carry out your right course of action. Life will start to work with you instead of against you and pleasant coincidences may even occur.
You have to trust that the next moment is not much better than the current moment, so you might as well enjoy the ride of this moment. Just melt away into the moment.
“The present moment is all there is. It’s all I have ever had. My entire life has consisted of the present moment. Therefore what is my attitude towards the present moment? Am I making the present moment into an enemy or a friend? Wherever you are is where you are supposed to be. And whatever you are doing in the now is what you’re supposed to do.” – Eckhart Tolle
If you are in a conversation with somebody, don’t try to get out of it early. Welcome it. Resist the urge of walking away. Just breathe in and out as you let the energy settle in its place allowing nothing to be left but intense being. By doing this, fear dissipates and people’s comfort level with you increases.
“Listen with your entire body, so to speak. Feel the aliveness, the animating presence, throughout the body as you listen.” – Eckhart Tolle
As Eckhart Tolle expressed before, you are where you are supposed to be. Trust that being present in each situation is part of your overall purpose and is the key to unlocking the puzzle to your life’s journey. We get so caught up in reaching certain pinnacles of success. What many of us fail to realize is that you can achieve success in each moment. By simply being and aligning yourself with the current moment you are living a meaningful life. The more awakened people we have living on our planet the more we can ensure the survival of our species. Thoughts disconnected from this source of awareness has created madness in our past history. The more awakened people get, the less suffering we will endure as a whole.
“You are stuck in a dream world of images, concepts, labels, interpretations, judgments – the conditioned content of your mind that you take to be “yourself.” And so you are disconnected from the fullness of life that is the “suchness” of this moment. When you are out of alignment with what is, you are out of alignment with life. You are struggling to reach a point in the future where there is greater security, aliveness, abundance, love, joy … unaware that those things make up the essence of who you are already.” – Eckhart Tolle
So clear your mind of incessant thoughts and answer the call to life: Being. Do your part in helping humanity by ridding yourself of the ego and consciously connect to your awareness where nothing but peace emanates from. Experience the depths of all things life has to offer including yourself. Your ego will never be able to define who you truly are. The only thing your ego will do is create endless suffering that will spread throughout this world. Cut the chain of this “collective conditioning” and naturally be the good in this world. Have no fear or resistance. Melt into the moment and experience a newer and greater depth that mindless thought will inevitably prevent you from reaching.
